Mrs. Miller's Fantastic 5th Graders!
Hello! I am Mrs. Miller, Thank you for visiting!
Welcome to 5th Grade!
In 5th grade we have a POSITIVE mindset!
Remember these important words:
YES YOU CAN!!!!
Tomoka Heros are:
Safe, Responsible, and Respectful!
Planners are to be brought to school EVERY DAY!! Homework is sent home Monday through Thursday unless otherwise indicated in your student's planner!!

READING HOMEWORK GUIDELINES!
Students are required to read from a grade level reading counts book each night.
Students are to write in the reading log part of the planner every night: the name of the book, and how many minutes they read.
Parents must sign under Reading daily on the planner to indicate that they observed their child read (distraction free) every night.
Students must earn 20 points each month in reading counts points. Students can read chapter books or if they prefer they can read smaller books, such as NonFiction informational texts if they prefer. As long as they have a total of 20 points for more a month. For Example: a student might read a large chapter book that is worth 20 points or 2 nonfiction science books that are 10 points each. It is not acceptable for a student to read 10 first grade books at 1 point each, the books must be grade level. Remember, the more points the better but I want my students to love what they read!
